we Can’t Just “Think Your Way Out” of Trauma

You’ve already tried to make sense of what happened. You’ve analyzed it or possibly pushed it away. Maybe you’ve even blamed yourself.

But it still shows up—uninvited. That sudden wave of emotion that knocks you down, even when everything seems fine on the outside.

What you’re feeling makes perfect sense. Because trauma doesn’t live in your thoughts—it lives in your nervous system.

And if you’ve spent years feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, it’s not because you’re broken. It’s because your brain and body never got the chance to fully process what happened.

EMDR offers a different way through.

One that doesn’t flood you or your nervous system—but instead helps your system release the trauma that’s been held inside for far too long.

EMDR Isn’t Just a Technique—It’s a Path Back to Yourself

When someone first starts EMDR with me, they’re often unsure. They might worry they have too many traumas, too many symptoms. They’re scared it’ll be overwhelming. Or maybe they fear it won’t work.

That’s why the way we do EMDR matters just as much as the method itself.

I focus on EMDR for complex trauma and attachment-based healing, while also utilizing parts work. This means I consider every part of you and your experience. We look at the traumatic experience, how your body holds it, how it affects your relationships, and how it influences your self-view.

You don’t need to be able to explain it perfectly.

You don’t need to remember everything.

And you don’t need to carry it alone.

EMDR helps us access the places where trauma lives—the parts of you that are still stuck in survival mode—and give them what they never got: space to release, support to heal, and someone who stays with you through all of it.

Clients often describe it as feeling like the memory finally moved. It’s no longer sitting on their chest. It’s no longer playing on loop.

How EMDR Feels (And How I Work As An EMDR Therapist)

If you’ve tried EMDR before and it felt cold or clinical, I get it. That’s why I do things differently. Clients often tell me that EMDR with me feels more human, more connected. That they feel held, supported, and deeply understood—even when we’re processing painful material.

We don’t just dive into trauma and hope for the best.

We go at your pace, with full attention to your nervous system, your boundaries, and your inner world.

You’ll always know why we’re doing what we’re doing.

You’ll never be expected to push through discomfort on your own.

This isn’t just trauma work—it’s relational work. Because healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and no longer alone in our pain.

What Healing Can Look Like

After EMDR, daily life begins to feel doable—sometimes for the first time in years.

You wake up without that immediate sense of dread. You don’t feel constantly on guard. The world softens. Your body doesn’t feel like a battlefield anymore.

Small things—like getting dressed, going outside, making a decision—aren’t heavy in the same way.

●     You notice more ease in your breath.

●     More space in your chest.

●     More quiet in your mind.

You’re not replaying everything. You’re not questioning your worth every hour. You’re not disappearing into shame or freezing when emotions show up.

Instead, you’re present. You’re steady.

And maybe—gently, finally—you actually want to be here.

Clients tell me they look forward to the day. That they laugh more. That they feel alive.

And it’s not because they’ve erased the past—it’s because they’ve reclaimed themselves from it.

Why Work With Me for EMDR

I’ve dedicated my career to working with trauma—not just because it’s what I’m trained in, but because it’s what I care about most.

I am an EMDR Certified Therapist. To be EMDR Certified requires additional and regular advanced training, a certain amount of consultation hours, and having done EMDR enough with my clients. Basically, I’ve done a lot of EMDR!

I’ve trained extensively in EMDR, parts work, attachment-based EMDR, and trauma-specific approaches for communities who experience marginalization.

I continue to pursue advanced training regularly because I believe you deserve care that is thoughtful, skilled, and deeply attuned.

But what my clients notice first isn’t the credentials—it’s the connection.

That they’re not just a list of symptoms.

That they’re seen, understood, and their story is honored.

EMDR doesn’t have to feel cold or clinical. It can feel like coming home to yourself.

And I’d be honored to help guide you there.
