EMDR Intensives
A focused, accelerated path to healing.
If you’re ready to move through what’s been holding you back—with uninterrupted time and momentum —an EMDR intensive might be exactly what you need.
What Is an EMDR Intensive?
An EMDR intensive offers extended, focused time for deep trauma work—without the stop-and-start pace of weekly therapy.
Instead of processing in 50-minute increments, we meet for several hours or multiple days in a row, giving your system added space and momentum to progress.
For many clients, this can mean faster relief, deeper healing, and an accelerated path forward.
Whether you’ve been feeling stuck in traditional weekly therapy or want to jumpstart your healing process, an EMDR intensive offers a powerful way to do the work—gently, safely, and at your pace.
Why Choose an Intensive Format?
● You’re tired of feeling stuck and want more focused time to heal
● You already have a therapist, but want to experience the power of EMDR
● You’re ready to go deeper, and want extended time to stay in the work
● You want faster movement, especially around specific experiences or themes
In an intensive, we’ll not only use EMDR, but also integrate parts work, somatic tools, and animal-assisted therapy when appropriate.
You won’t just understand your trauma—you’ll begin to release it.
What It’s Like to Work Together
Before your intensive, we’ll meet for a consultation to map out your goals and ensure the format is the right fit. We’ll create a treatment plan together and tailor the structure around what you need.
During the intensive, we work in extended blocks—usually between 3–5 hours per day—with time for grounding, reflection, and rest.
You’ll never be rushed. You’ll always be supported.
After the intensive, you can return to your primary therapist with a written summary of our work, or continue working with me in weekly sessions or future intensive blocks.
Is an EMDR Intensive Right for You?
If you’re curious but unsure, that’s okay. We’ll talk through it.
In your consultation, I’ll help you decide if now is the right time, and whether an intensive fits your goals.
You don’t need to commit to anything up front—just reach out, and we’ll take the next step together.
EMDR Intensive FAQ
-
EMDR therapy is a modality of psychotherapy that is designed to help us process and heal from traumatic events and disturbing memories. EMDR is also highly effective for addressing other concerns such as anxiety and panic attacks, grief, and phobias.
EMDR intensives are extended EMDR therapy sessions that are designed to help people address symptoms and heal in an accelerated format. As opposed to weekly therapy sessions that can require much more time to complete, EMDR intensives allow you to work through stuck experiences and symptoms in just days.

I tailor EMDR intensives to the individual and specific needs of my clients, so this might look a little different for everyone. Generally, this is an example of what an intensive can look like:
We’ll start with a consultation to talk more about your goals for your intensive, if EMDR intensives would be a good fit for you, discuss the estimated amount of time and days needed for your intensive, start to build our therapeutic relationship, and get to know each other
If we think this is a good fit, we’ll get your intensive scheduled. If you are local to the Denver area, you might decide to start with weekly therapy before your intensive, or you might decide to dive right in
During the intensive, we’ll start with creating a plan for your treatment together, so we both have a roadmap for your progress and goals.
We’ll spend a lot of time processing the targets that we’ve identified together and addressing things like negative internal narratives and thoughts or blocking beliefs
During EMDR intensives, I also utilize additional therapy modalities such as parts work, anima assisted therapy, AEDP, and somatic approaches.
For longer EMDR intensives, we have a lunch break in the middle of the day
We always leave the last portion of the session for grounding and stabilization. We’ll also make our plan for the next day of the intensive.
At the conclusion of your EMDR intensive, ll provide a summary for our work together to your therapist, if you have one you are already working with. If you continue working with me, you can transition to weekly therapy and incorporate various intensive formats throughout our time working together

It depends! I offer intensives in two different formats:
Multiple consecutive days in a week: this can be over the course of 2-3 days, ranging from 3-5 hours a day
EMDR intensive blocks: for ongoing therapy clients, I offer 3 hour EMDR block sessions that can be scheduled when they fit your availability to support our ongoing work together
-
No problem! If you are on ongoing client, you might benefit from the EMDR intensive bock format. If you are wanting to explore a longer EMDR intensive, we can discuss flexible options outside of the typical weekly format.
-
Yes! EMDR intensives can a great tool to support the work you are doing with your therapist. I will collaborate and coordinate with your therapist before and after your intensive, so everyone is on the same page and your progress can be transferred to your ongoing therapy.
-
If you are interested in working together after your intensive, we can transition to weekly or bi-weekly therapy. You will have the option to add intensives or intensive blocks to our work together when requested.
If you already have a therapist, we will transition your care back to your therapist after the completion of your intensive. If you do not already have a therapist and are wanting referrals after your intensive, I will provide you with the names of trusted referrals at the completion of our work together.
-
For EMDR intensives I do longer consultation calls- about 45 minutes to discuss your goals and if an intensive might be a good fit for you. I’ll help you decide if an EMDR intensive could be helpful in reaching your goals and if now is the right time to do one. If you want to explore it but are still not sure after the consultation call, we can also do weekly sessions (if you live in CO) to continue getting to know each other and discussing it as an option.
-
It depends! If you are interested in an intensive that is scheduled over the course of a few days, you can travel to Denver to participate if you live in another state. If you are interested in ongoing therapy with me and intensive blocks, you do need to live in Colorado, which is where I am licensed to practice.

I am an out of network provider and do not directly bill insurance. I can provide you with superbills for reimbursement for standard 50-minute therapy sessions. Insurance does not cover intensive therapy, and I am unable to provide superbills for reimbursement for intensive sessions.
What is the fee for EMDR intensives?
My fee for intensives is $195 per hour. Intensives are scheduled for a specific number of hours based on our consultation call and the schedule we decide together.
